Artist's Comments
After my grandfather's death 2 weeks ago I was stuck in gramma's house for a week until the funeral. Since she lives in a tiny isolated village in the countryside of Germany, there's nothing to do around there including no internet. It's only natural I tend to get really bored whenever Im over there.
Luckily I brought my tablet along. Without any real inspiration however, it wasn't a big help until I started to pay attention to all the old paintings spread around the house. I always thought they were kinda ugly so I started copying them using my own interpretation. They aren't exactly eyecandy to look at but it killed time for me and, although everyone was mourning over the death of my grampa, they allowed people to smile and laugh. The original painting of this was a portrait of what was supposed to be a beautiful young woman. It looked kinda creepy to me however... time: aprox. 30 - 60 minutes |
